C-Curve – Anish Kapoor

The C-Curve (2007) is a sculpture by Anish Kapoor. During the 2009 Brighton Festival it was exhibited on a specially constructed concrete plinth atop the South Downs chalk hills – near the remote Chattri War Memorial. [Google Map Location] [flickr photo]
The highly polished curves of the stainless steel structure reflect and distort the surroundings.
This image is part of a flickr set, which includes sunset, dusk and gloaming pictures, and also some "speeded up" (by between x10 and x30) videos which exaggerate the movements of the clouds.

When it comes to wild and rugged walking, USA national parks are hard to beat. One of the most popular and famous national parks in the whole of the country is Yosemite. This majestically beautiful park is popular with tourists from across the world, and with the excellent walking opportunities on offer it should be one of the first places that you consider. Here are some of the highlights of the park to check out when you visit Yosemite.
Nevada Falls
Nevada Falls is one of the most beautiful features of Yosemite, and definitely worth a visit when you go walking. USA trips to Yosemite should include checking out as many highlights as possible, and if you like walking then you can hike to the top of these falls to get some stunning views. At 2,000 feet high it is quite a hike and you should remember that parts of the trail are closed during the winter months.
Ansel Adams Gallery
Although not one of the natural highlights, you should still take the time to visit the Ansel Adams Gallery when you visit Yosemite to go walking. USA nature photography owes a lot to Adams, whose photos of Yosemite have made it famous around the world. The gallery contains all of his best-known images in the permanent collection, and it also features images from other photographers. Its great for anyone looking for inspiration during their walking trip.
Yosemite Falls
At 739 metres high, Yosemite Falls is the highest waterfall in North America. Although you can see it from many different locations, the best option is to hike to the top. There are two trails to choose from if you want to visit it: the lower falls trail which is easier, and the upper falls trail which is harder, so base your decision on your level of hiking experience.
Yosemite Valley
For those who love walking, USA national parks will already be quite familiar to them due to photos that have become famous over the years. The most famous photographs of the Yosemite Valley were taken by Ansel Adams, mentioned above, and you will probably recognise this area as soon as you arrive. Some of the main places to visit include Half Dome, El Capitan and Glacier Point, from which you can enjoy fantastic views over the valley.
See as Many Highlights as Possible
Yosemite National Park is a great place to visit if you love walking. USA parks in general are pretty spectacular, but Yosemite is perhaps the most beautiful of all. With so many highlights to see during your stay, try to experience as many as possible and enjoy the fantastic walking opportunities on offer.
